Safety routines
What your family provides
A pool with a fence and a gate that closes, a shady place to sit, an adult on the deck for the whole class and a towel for each swimmer. Your family follows its own local rules for the pool and its barrier.
In the water
An instructor is in the water with each class, and the younger levels hold hands or a kickboard. Every level practices getting to the wall.
Adults on the deck
An adult from your family stays on the deck and keeps phones away from the water's edge. Lessons are no substitute for adult supervision.
Arriving and leaving
The instructor texts when she is on the street. We ask that the gate is closed before we get in the water and again when we leave.
Weather, heat and poor air
On a very hot afternoon, in a storm or when the air is poor, the instructor calls before class. The class moves or is made up in the same session.
When a swimmer is unwell
Please keep a swimmer home with a fever or a stomach bug and tell us. We offer a make-up class.
